Music Mondays: Kina Grannis

It took 288,000 Jelly Belly jelly beans to create this sweet video for "In Your Arms," and almost two years. Kinas certainly no stranger to YouTube, though. She actually built up a large part of her following, affectionately known as the Kinerds and Kination, through avenues like the video-sharing online destination since she opted to skip the traditional record label route.

The California native self-released several albums during her time as a student at USC before uploading a video and entering the Doritos Crash the Super Bowl contest, which earned her fans and a spot that aired during the Super Bowl. Kina independently put out her first album, Stairwells, back in 2010. Since then, the ambitious artist has toured, released a remixed version of her debut offering and continued to post new videos online.

After enjoying Kina's truly original video along with the incredible behind-the-scenes story, make sure to check out I AM THAT GIRL's YouTube channel. While you're there, don't forget to tune into our Music Mondays playlist, which is updated every week.
