Music Mondays: Kimbra

Settling down has never been quite so unsettling. Kimbra's stylistic video, "Settle Down" grabs your attention from the very first note, and refuses to let go even after the final frame. From the young girls playing dress up to that creepy male mannequin all the way to the porcelain dolls in flames, Kimbra manages to turn convention on its head.

This native New Zealander is taking the music world by storm. Her duet with Australian/Belgian singer Gotye called, "Somebody That I Used To Know" has topped the charts in numerous countries. Kimbra's own tracks off her debut, Vows, are also getting a lot of attention. The jazzy pop vocalist has performed at SXSW and is set to appear on the road this spring with Foster the People. That's pretty impressive for an artist only in her early 20s. We absolutely love Kimbra's quirky musical personality comprised of innovative rhythms and against-the-grain lyrics.
