If you're a fan of the popular show, Pretty Little Liars, you've undoubtedly heard some of Fay Wolf's music. Her cover of The Outfield's "Your Love" was even included on the soundtrack for the ABC Family series. Fay's clever and entertaining video for the track shows the real emotion fueling the song and that creative out-of-this-world ending demonstrates this singer/songwriter's truly innovative nature. It's not really surprising that Fay decided to reinterpret this '80s hit since it reminds her of her childhood growing up in Connecticut. In fact, all three covers on her recent Your Love EP were old favorites whose potential Fay only recently realized. "I tried to break them down and showcase how deep and sad they are lyrically," Fay explained to I AM THAT GIRL.
Fay indulged in a wide range of music as a youngster from Tori Amos and Ani DiFranco to Skid Row and Poison. She learned to play piano at age six and performed in local competitions until she was 12 when, in a fit of impending teenage rebellion, she decided to quit taking lessons. Fortunately, a second passion unveiled itself and Fay began to take up acting. She studied the craft at Boston University and also trained at Upright Citizens Brigade. The multitalented star has gone on to appear in numerous TV shows like 2 Broke Girls, Childrens Hospital, NCIS: Los Angeles, and Bones, just to name a few. Fay rediscovered her love affair with music and began composing as well as performing around Los Angeles back in 2008. Her debut EP, Blankets, came out in 2009 followed by the performer's first full-length album, Spiders, which was released in November 2011. In addition to Pretty Little Liars, Fay's music has also been featured on a variety of TV shows, including Grey's Anatomy, One Tree Hill, The Vampire Diaries, and Covert Affairs.
As if her singing and acting careers weren't already impressive, Fay is also a professional organizer, whose company New Order helps customers deal with both inner and outer clutter. When we asked Fay what artists she's tuned into these days, her answers were as eclectic as her resume. "Daniel Zaitchik, Ben Lee, Richard Walters, and Samantha Shelton are all in current rotation," she admitted. "Oh, and Beyoncé." We love Fay's willingness to keep learning and her professed desire to "write, write, write." She also earned our sincere admiration with her response to why she's such a badass. "I think I'm a badass because I'm getting better at being vulnerable and better at sharing my heart."
