Music Mondays: Amy Stroup

Even if you don't immediately recognize Amy Stroup's name, you probably know her distinctive voice. That's because her music has been featured on popular TV shows like Grey's Anatomy, Brothers & Sisters, Private Practice, One Tree Hill and Army Wives. Amy's optimistic track, "Hold Onto Hope Love" displays a genuine melodic yearning as she attempts to connect with her soul mate. Her unwavering hopefulness is instantly relatable for a lot of people, even our fearless founder.

Amy grew up all over thanks to her mobile church family. She was born in Boston, but spent her formidable years in Texas before finding her way to Nashville. She first learned to play piano because her grandmother thought playing the guitar "wasn’t ladylike." That didn't deter Amy, though, and she even went on to study classical guitar in addition to marketing at Lipscomb University. After graduation, the singer/songwriter began recording and releasing her own music. Since then, Amy has put out several albums, including last summer's The Other Side of Love Sessions. She's also in a collaborative group with fellow Nashville artist Trent Dabbs called Sugar & The Hi Lows. We’re true fans of Amy’s originality, pure performance style and willingness to push the music industry envelope.
