Thank you for your interest in contributing to the I AM THAT GIRL blog! We aren't currently accepting new contributors. If you've got an idea for a rad piece that you think would be great for us, send your pitch to: firstname.lastname@example.org. Please understand that we are unable to respond to every pitch/email.
We're most interested in hearing from writers age 14-22 years old, but are open to hearing from people in their twenties and beyond.
What kinds of materials is IATG looking for?
We publish fresh, diverse voices who offer engaging, accessible perspectives on topics that range from Girl Culture and Relationships to Career + School, Tough Stuff, Current Trends, and more. Check out our topic areas HERE. We publish non-fiction essays, personal stories, and interviews. We're also open to publishing graphic art and video content.
What's Right For IATG
We love honest, vulnerable, conversational content that informs, uplifts, and inspires dialogue about all kinds of issues and experiences. We prize content that connects people and makes the reader say, "Really? Me too!" When our readers come to our blog, we want them to know they are not alone and we want them to feel safe to share. We are happy to publish work that makes you feel like you’re hanging out with a great group of friends, sharing meaningful conversation that changes the way you think about yourself, others, and the world.
What's NOT Right For IATG
Content that excludes or tears down others - snark, gossip, pieces based on sensationalism. Content that promotes self-harm, violence, or intolerance. Content that doesn’t line up with our mission to empower girls to LOVE, EXPRESS, and BE who they really are. IATG does not tolerate plagiarism. All work must be your own.
