3 Self-Care Strategies That Rock!

I’m a big believer in simple, easy changes that pack a big punch.

Small things you can take and implement in your life that will create big results.

A lot of women come to me for advice because they want to lose weight or are feeling totally run down and lethargic. Basically, they hate their bodies.

The thing is, until you can accept yourself where you’re at right now and even feel grateful for your life and your body, you’ll never be able to create lasting change.

So let’s feel great NOW while working to get in the best summer shape ever!

Here are a few of my favorite tips to help you start feeling awesome and looooving your bod.


1. Hot water with lemon

If you do nothing else, try this. It will help you lose weight, have more energy and serve as a nice cleanse. On an empty stomach first thing in the morning sip hot water with lemon. You can also make big pot of hot water and pour it into a thermos to carry around with you. Add a slice or two of lemon or fresh lemon juice and sip that throughout the day.

2. Spice it up

Spices stimulate our digestion and breaks down food more easily, helping us to lose weight. I’m not talking about hot wings here, but adding pepper, cayenne, garlic or ginger to your food will help break it down and burn more calories! If you have sluggish digestion, this will definitely help.

3. Put down the fork

If you’re going to eat a piece of cake, eat the damn cake already. But do it mindfully. Sit down, focus on your food and put down your fork in between bites. This is just good advice for any meal. Really taste the food and enjoy it for all its glorious flavors. Putting down your fork will help you to eat slower and feel full faster.

It’s amazing how simple it can be to get fit and energized with just a few small changes!

This is an area where a lot of women get tripped up.

We’re taught (sadly) in our society to put ourselves down, deflect compliments, call ourselves fat even when we’re not and generally obsess about counting every calorie.

Here’s the thing – the more you obsess the more you end up feeling like crap about yourself and your body. This goes for women and men.
